Community Standards

Outclix exists so LGBTQ+ people can find businesses and spaces that welcome them. These standards keep the directory trustworthy, honest, and safe for everyone.

Be who you say you are

Every designation on Outclix means something. Claim LGBTQ+-owned, LGBTQ+-led, ally, or nonprofit status only if it's true. Our verification team formally reviews these designations, and misrepresenting your identity or your business to the community is grounds for removal.

Welcome, don't just tolerate

Ally businesses on Outclix commit to genuinely welcoming LGBTQ+ customers and employees — in policy and in practice. Discrimination against customers or staff on the basis of sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, race, religion, disability, or any protected characteristic has no place here.

Keep listings honest

Describe your business accurately: real hours, real services, real photos. Promotions must be genuine offers that are honored as described. Job postings must be for real positions. Events must be real gatherings with accurate dates, times, and locations.

No harmful content

Content that promotes hate, harassment, violence, or conversion therapy is prohibited. So is content that is unlawful, deceptive, or that outs individuals without their consent. This applies to listings, events, promotions, job posts, photos, and messages.

An adult platform without adult content

This platform is intended only for people who are at least 18 years old or who have reached the age of majority in their jurisdiction, whichever is greater. At the same time, Outclix is a general-audience business directory — not an adult-content platform. The following is prohibited everywhere, including listings, images, events, promotions, job posts, and links:

  • Pornography
  • Sexually explicit photographs, videos, illustrations, animations, or livestreams
  • Visible genitals
  • Explicit depictions of sexual activity
  • Content primarily designed to cause sexual arousal
  • Explicit sexual audio
  • Graphic descriptions of sexual acts
  • Links that directly lead to pornography or sexually explicit content
  • Sexually explicit profile photographs or listing banners
  • Explicit fetish content
  • Solicitation of sexual activity
  • Prostitution or commercial sexual services
  • Escort, companion-for-hire, or sugar-dating advertisements
  • Nude or sexually explicit massage advertisements
  • Human trafficking or exploitation
  • Sexual content involving or appearing to involve minors
  • Requests for sexual photographs or videos
  • Nonconsensual intimate imagery
  • Sexualized deepfakes
  • Incest, bestiality, sexual violence, or exploitation content
  • Obscene material
  • Content that would reasonably be considered harmful to minors

Content involving or endangering minors is escalated on an expedited basis and may be reported to law enforcement.

LGBTQ+ content is never treated as explicit

Being LGBTQ+-oriented is not adult content. The following are always welcome on Outclix when presented in a non-explicit manner:

  • LGBTQ+ businesses
  • Pride celebrations
  • Drag shows and drag brunches
  • LGBTQ+ history and culture
  • Restaurants, bars, clubs, and nightlife
  • Hotels and travel
  • Weddings and relationships
  • Healthcare and wellness
  • HIV prevention and testing
  • Gender-affirming healthcare
  • Mental-health resources
  • Community organizations
  • Religious organizations
  • Advocacy organizations
  • Family services
  • Arts and entertainment
  • Dating services that prohibit explicit content and commercial sexual solicitation
  • Educational discussions of sexuality or health written in a clinical, factual, and non-graphic manner

Reporting and enforcement

Every listing and event page includes a report option. Reports go to our moderation queue and are reviewed by the Outclix team. Depending on severity, enforcement ranges from content edits and warnings to listing removal, badge revocation, and account suspension. We prioritize reports involving safety.

See something that doesn't belong? Find the listing and use the "Report" action on its page — it takes less than a minute.
