Age attestation & your privacy
How Outclix confirms you are an adult without collecting your identity
Outclix is intended only for people who are at least 18 years old or who have reached the age of majority in their jurisdiction, whichever is greater. We use age attestation — your own confirmation that you meet that requirement — and take a privacy-first approach: we record that you attested, never who you are or when you were born.
What we store
When you attest to your age, your browser receives a signed, tamper-proof cookie recording only the threshold you attested to (18+ or 21+), how it was confirmed, and when it expires. Separately, a minimal attestation record is kept with only the policy version you accepted, the context (for example, site entry or listing submission), a timestamp, and — where voluntarily provided — your state. It contains no name, no birth date, and no identity document data.
What we never store
Outclix never stores your date of birth for browsing, government ID images, biometric data, or the pages you unlock. If your state requires enhanced verification through an independent provider, that provider confirms only a yes/no result to us — the underlying documents never reach Outclix servers. Aggregate compliance statistics (for example, how many verifications happened in a state) are kept without any personal identifiers.
How long it lasts
Attestations expire automatically after 30 days, and you will be asked to re-attest whenever the age policy materially changes, when you sign in on a new device or browser, and before sensitive actions like submitting a listing. Clearing your browser cookies also removes the confirmation immediately.

Rules differ by state, and Outclix applies the requirements of the state you browse from or select. If you believe an age-related decision is wrong, or you cannot complete an attestation, you can contact support to appeal — appeals are reviewed by a person.
